IT'S HIGH TIME FOR A SPIRITUAL REVOLUTION - DAVID MARK

Speaking at a dinner with the priests attending the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) in Otukpo, Benue State, yesterday, the senate president David Mark stated that this is the high time for a "moral and spiritual revolution" in Nigeria.

Mark urged the religious leaders to pray for the country to overcome the pressing social and political challenges, and he sustenance of the democratic processes in the country.

"The church should continue to use her weapons of prayer and fasting; divine and human resources to actualise transformation both in our hearts and our society. Nigeria needs moral and spiritual revolution. And this is the time", Mark stated.

Senate president said that everything humanly possible should be done within the ambits of the law to develop Nigerian democracy and yield the needed dividend for the population.

Mark also referred to the recent debates about same sex marriages. He reinstated that in spite of criticisms and pressure from outside, the law banning same sex marriage in Nigeria is irrevocable. He said that the idea of same sex marriage is counter Nigeria's laws and traditions, and indeed offensive to humanity.
