A 55-year-old man,Titiloye Tella, has been accused of allegedly defiling and raping 11-year-old girl simply identified as 'Tapepa' (not real name) in his (Tella) bedroom.
According to the charges brought to him by an Osogbo Senior Magistrate Court in Osun State, Tella, allegedly perpetrated the act on August 31, 2013 at 9 am in Temidire area of Gbongan, Ayedaade Local Government Area of the state.
Tella was accused of of dragging the young girl into his yard of his house. He allegedly covered her mouth with a piece of cloth and went on to violate her.
According to reports, the victim, who hawks old newspapers was called by Tella to buy her ware. After Tella had bought N20 newspaper from Tapepa, he allegedly gagged and dragged her into his bedroom where he allegedly raped her.
The girl was said to have narrated her ordeal to her father who immediately reported the matter at the Family Unit of the Oja Oba Police Station in Osogbo.
Tella, who claims he had been living alone since his wife divorced him, has denied the charges.
He is currently being remanded in Ilesa prison custody. The magistrate adjourned the case till December 11, 2013.
