ANAMBRA ELECTION:WHILE PDP STRUGGLES TO DECIDE ON ITS CANDIDATE,LABOUR PARTY CHOOSES IFEANYI UBAH AS FLAG BEARER

While the People's Democratic Party has been struggling to come up with its candidate for November 16 governorship election in Anambra state, the Labour Party has chose Mr. Ifeanyi Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah as its candidate on Wednesday, August 28.

He has emerged candidate with voice votes from the 1,137 accredited delegates of Labour Party. The event took place at Emmaus House, Awka, which was filled mammoth crowd that gathered from the twenty one local government area and 326 wards of Anambra state, had in attendance officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and officers of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party from Abuja.

The delegates underwent the screening and with their voice votes consented Ubah to bear the flag of the party in the 2014 governorship election, being the only participant in the primary.

Confirming Ubah the winner of the primary, the National Chairman of the party, Dan Nwanyanwu, challenged other political parties to the fact that Labour Party is the only party devoid of internal war and factions.

In his acceptance speech, Ifeanyi Ubah stated that his aim was to that reposition Anambra state to a social and humanist democratic setting.

Meanwhile, the a federal judge on Wednesday ordered the PDP to accept the outcome of the primary election where Senator Andy Uba emerged as the PDP candidate for the November 16, 2013 Anambra governorship election.
